THE WEALTHY PLACE

PRESENTING MONTHLY THOUGHTS ON COVENANT WEALTH

Many have sought to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish the earth and exercise their dominion rights, all without success, because they have not done that which is needful. 'But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.' (Luke 10:42). They have not sought for the blessing of the LORD. See, it is the roots that determine the fruits.

Essentially, fruitfulness and riches are by¬products of the blessing of the Lord. Indeed, all fruits of goodness and mercy are designed to daily chase after those who dwell in the blessings of the Lord. It is the blessing of the LORD that gives real meaning to any man's life. True success, glory and beauty come for a man when he is blessed of the Lord.

May the fresh waters of divine blessing drench you as you explore the truth of God's Word via this web page, in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

GENERATING COVENANT WEALTH (1)

Text: 2 Chronicles 1:11-12; Ps.35:27.

Introduction: Money matters. Yes, money is the medium through which earthly success is measured. But there is an interesting note added to this fact: God delights in the prosperity of His people (Ps.35:27; 3Jn.2). Why? This is the subject of our exploration this morning. No man ever needs to suffer. But we must drive ourselves with great resolves to enjoy the benefits of divine provision.

Undeniable Identity of Wealth

a. Money is a means to an end (Zech.1:17). Ahead of you stretches your future, like a road leading to some distance. And along that road are visions and ambitions you wish to accomplish and desires you wish to gratify. Visions speak better and louder when there is money to interpret it. Be it vision to touch lives, to raise your children, to compensate someone who has added to your life or blessed you one way or the other.

b. All instruments of comfort are made for the rich. Even, the Holy Ghost is referred to as the Comforter (Jn.14:26). Hence, God could not frown at our comfortable estate. ‘Comfort ye my people’ was His cry to His henchmen (Is.40:1). A good and comfortable house or good car add to the comfort He desires for His people. Wealth increases the potency of all the good things that bring happiness and contentment. Wealth is power! With wealth, many things are made possible. In short, money makes possible the enjoyment of the best of life.

c. Money is a spiritual answer to many social questions and challenging needs (Eccl.10:19). A wealthy man is not easily moved out of his position (Ps.30:6). Riches are a sort of defense (Eccl.7:12). It brings respect, acceptance, security or esteem, which facilitate success on earth (Ps.122:7; Pr.10:15; 19:4).

The Place of Desire

Money is plentiful for those who understand the simple laws which govern its acquisition. One of such laws is the law of desire:

Psa 10:17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

Psa 21:2 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

Psa 78:29 So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;

Psa 145:16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

Psa 145:19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Pro 10:24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

Pro 18:1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

To know the joy that comes from God through wealth and riches, we must dream about it. So many people are as poor as rats because their dreams are misplaced. Hence, they continue to live with the soul of the king’s slave.

Why have many people never found any significant measure of wealth? They never sought it. In those things towards which we exert our best endeavors, we succeed. We all should learn to claim our own shares of the good things of life.

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life (Pr.13:12).

Along the path of strong desire lies greatness and excellency of life. The man meant for greatness must possess a genius for drive in the right direction and desire in the right proportion.

The stories of men who have accomplished great works tell of the significance of a mind-set of desire for greatness. Feeble flames soon die out but dominant desires always drive to distinction and enviable heights in life.

If a man does not desire wealth, he cannot achieve it. What you do not pursue, you won’t recognize or even cherish it. That is why no man ever locates enduring riches without desiring it in the first place. Zeal must be an indispensable pathway to nobility.

Friends, dreams come true when desires transform them into concrete actions. Define your purpose and employ a drive to accomplish it. Drive yourself with a heart of steel and you will win in Jesus Name, Amen.

Meanwhile, if you are to achieve what you desire, time and study would be required. Many people spend their time carelessly and they let slip by time which is sufficient to make them wealthy. Take care of how you spend your time.

Again, study to find out what you did not know. By all means, add more values to yourself day by day. Also pursuit is the only genuine evidence of desire. Whatever you are not ready to pursue, should not be expected to contribute to your wealthy estate. You will sing your songs, but please kindly remember that your desire is the main harmony of your greatness and wealth.

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
